I have to say this. And please know that I apologize ahead of time for anyone it may offend. But I'm seeing a lot of this lately and I have to share my opinion.

It IS possible to get sober and live a better life without converting religions. It drives me crazy to see people of their own mind set and independence converting and turning in to psycho bible thumpers just because they want to get sober. Being brainwashed and giving up their own peace of mind.

You are just giving up one life control for another. I'm sorry, but you are.

Just because you are getting sober or off drugs does not mean you have to post bible versus on your Facebook every 3 minutes or shove a bible down everyone's throat.

Getting sober is about YOU. It's about YOUR HEALTH. It's about YOUR STRENGTHS. YOUR powers. It is about YOU accomplishing a goal to become a better person in your own eyes.

And I promise you are strong enough to do with without throwing yourself away for a bible.

Not JUST Christians are sober or off drugs. You don't have to convert in a massive religious manner to accomplish your goals. Sobriety isn't about "god" or about "the bible" or about "repaying god for making you clean" by going around and slinging "the word" in everyone's face like a crazy person.

It's about YOU and all of YOUR hard work!!!!

You didn't believe in this specific religion before you busted YOUR OWN ASS to get where you are today!! Why are you suddenly throwing all of that away to give the credit of all your hard work and accomplishments to someone else?

YOU beat addiction. Celebrate yourself. Be proud of yourself. Don't give all of that credit to a man who shoved a religious book down your throat. You don't HAVE to be a Christian to be sober and be a better person. And that's a fact.

I had to think long and hard before posting this. Because I know a bunch of Christians are probably about to jump my throat with how I'm "wrong". But I'm saying it anyway.

You can get sober and off drugs without being a Christian. And you can help a person with addiction without beating them with the holy bible. Their religious beliefs have NOTHING to do with their predicament.
They aren't addicted or going through bad things just because they believe differently. Changing their beliefs just gives them a distraction. It doesn't actually help their problem. They need love and support. Not religion.
